Hitomail Co., Ltd. announced that its subsidiary, Hitomail Logistics Co., Ltd., which handles logistics for the group, has newly installed a large-scale, approximately 200-tsubo (660 sqm) refrigeration and freezing facility at its Heiwajima Center, capable of managing three temperature zones (frozen, partial-freezing, and refrigerated).
This installation is aimed at strengthening the sales platform business centered on logistics, a goal outlined in the group's mid-term management plan, 'TRANSFORMATION PLAN 2028,' and is a critical initiative to support future business expansion.
The newly introduced large-scale facility, located in the expanded space of the Heiwajima Center which was enlarged in July 2025, enables management of three temperature zones. This establishes a system capable of storing and delivering products requiring temperature control, such as fresh foods, in addition to the alcoholic beverages, drinks, and dry materials handled previously. The ability to support the partial-freezing temperature zone is particularly crucial, as demand is high from the restaurant and retail industries for freshness and quality control, making it a key function for future platform business growth.
Strengthening the Sales Platform Centered on Logistics
Hitomail is shifting from a business structure primarily focused on liquor sales to a growth strategy of offering an integrated logistics platform—covering orders, storage, delivery, and payment processing—to external companies as well. The Heiwajima Center has served as a core hub for this, handling third-party logistics and deliveries to shippers' designated locations. With this new facility, the range of handleable products has expanded, creating a foundation to solve the logistics challenges of a more diverse range of customers and industries.
Furthermore, the company will utilize this facility internally to expand its handling of food products, evolving from a provider of just alcoholic beverages to a provider of 'business and life infrastructure.'
Toward Building Sustainable Logistics
The Hitomail Group will continue to aim for the realization of sustainable logistics by balancing the construction of an efficient logistics network with the reduction of environmental impact through active investment in logistics centers and facilities. The group will continue to create new value with its customer and partner companies and contribute to social development through the evolution of its logistics-centered sales platform.
