Kansai Airports is pleased to announce that the total number of international and domestic air passengers at Kansai International Airport has reached 600 million in May 2026, since its opening in 1994.
Kansai International Airport opened on September 4, 1994, as the world's first airport on a fully artificial island. Over the past 31 years, it has served a total of 600 million passengers. Currently, it serves approximately 33.55 million passengers annually (FY2025 results).
We express our sincere gratitude to all passengers who have utilized the airport and, marking this milestone, we remain committed to striving toward becoming an airport that is even safer, more secure, and more comfortable for our passengers.
