KATO WORKS CO., LTD. began full-scale operation of solar power generation facilities installed at its Gunma plant (Ota City, Gunma Prefecture) in March, starting June 1, 2026. This facility was introduced as part of efforts to expand the use of renewable energy and reduce CO2 emissions. By utilizing this facility at the Gunma plant, one of the company’s major manufacturing bases, the company aims to reduce the environmental impact of its business activities. With the operation of this facility, the electricity generated on factory operating days will be approximately 1.66 million kWh per year, all of which is planned for self-consumption. This is equivalent to approximately 60% of the electricity used at the Gunma plant. The annual projected power generation, including surplus electricity generated on non-operating days, is approximately 2.76 million kWh, and the annual CO2 reduction is expected to be approximately 1,148 tons. It is also expected to contribute to the stabilization of electricity costs.
