Kayac Inc. (Headquarters: Kamakura, Kanagawa Prefecture; CEO: Daisuke Yanagisawa) has announced that its hyper-casual smartphone game, 'Pistol Duel,' which is available globally, has reached the #1 spot on the US Google Play Free Action Games ranking (according to AppMagic).

'Pistol Duel' is an action game where players move and defeat enemies using the recoil of their pistol. It features simple controls combined with deeply engaging gameplay that encourages repeated play. As the US is one of the world's leading app markets, reaching the top in this category demonstrates strong support from a wide range of users.

The game launched on both iOS and Android on January 10, 2026, and secured the #1 spot in the US Google Play 'Free Action Games' ranking on April 28, three and a half months after release.

As of the date of this release (May 21), the cumulative total of downloads has exceeded 6.21 million across iOS and Android. The company plans to continue making improvements and updates.

Developer Comment: Tatsuki Maruyama Aiming for an 'Emotional Experience' that makes you want to throw your phone. While conventional hyper-casual games tend to prioritize ease and comfort, I focused on a 'intense, game-like emotional experience.' I aimed to create a game that elicits raw emotions—where you might shout in frustration when you lose, or cheer when you win. I intentionally increased the difficulty compared to other games and worked on achieving a delicate balance.

Moving forward, I plan to develop new features, such as player skins, new guns, gimmicks, and additional modes, to keep the game engaging.
