Toride City, Ibaraki Prefecture, Launches 'Obstetrics & Pediatrics Online' Starting June 1st

Kids Public, Inc. (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Naoya Hashimoto), in partnership with Toride City, Ibaraki Prefecture (Mayor: Osamu Nakamura), launched the 'Obstetrics & Pediatrics Online' service for city residents on June 1, 2026. By creating an environment where families can easily consult with obstetricians, midwives, and pediatricians via their smartphones, the city aims to support a community where pregnancy, childbirth, and child-rearing can be experienced with peace of mind.

Under the 'Third Toride City Child and Child-rearing Support Business Plan,' Toride City has been focusing on ICT-based support. Amidst national challenges such as a decrease in regional medical institutions and the implementation of work-style reforms for doctors, the city has introduced this service to address the anxieties of families regarding nighttime and holiday medical consultations.

Toride residents can access 24-hour text-based consultations, scheduled evening video calls, and daytime midwife consultations for free. Mayor Osamu Nakamura stated, 'We aim to alleviate the anxieties of expectant parents and those raising children, providing an environment where they can raise their children with confidence.'
