Project Overview

ivi house is an experimental residence designed with the concept of a "living house" to restore human sensibility, co-created by Haseko Corporation, Hosoda Corporation, leading robotics expert Dr. Hiroshi Ishiguro, and KiQ.

It is not merely a smart home; it focuses on human gestures, pauses, and embodied knowledge, creating a living environment where technology "gently accompanies" rather than being prominent.

While utilizing technology, the main focus remains on human sensibility and actions.

By integrally designing space, light, materials, and interaction, it was developed as a residential model that provides "meaningful experiences" rather than just "convenience."

What is ivi project?

The ivi project is a research and development initiative that positions housing not as a finished product but as an evolving platform. Its aim is to redefine life itself, going beyond the conventional role of a residence as a mere "consumer good" to one that expands human thought and sensibility.

ivi house is an experimental residence that has been socially implemented as the first prototype to embody this philosophy.

About KiQ

KiQ is a creative firm that explores beauty and humanity in the age of AI.

Based on Japanese aesthetics and the culture of "shosa" (gestures/manners), KiQ designs experiences that span AI, robotics, architecture, products, and UX. Its R&D division, Shosa Lab, is working to socially implement empathy design based on research into physicality and non-verbal communication.

Key Aspects of Collaboration

In this project,

were not fragmented but integrated from the initial conceptualization phase.

A distinctive feature is that the design began not from "functional requirements" but from "human actions."

An approach was adopted where each gesture of the resident was observed, and then the spatial composition and technological integration were reverse-engineered from there.

Going forward, KiQ will expand the ivi project both domestically and internationally, extending it beyond housing to various other domains.
