Kirin Brewery Company, Limited, in joint research with the University of Tsukuba on 'scientifically-backed healthy drinking methods,' has obtained new insights into how drinking habits affect pure alcohol intake. The study suggested that practicing habits such as 'drinking slowly for the first 30 minutes' and 'placing the glass on the table after every sip' reduced alcohol intake while maintaining satisfaction. In recent years, awareness of drinking has changed due to a growing health consciousness, and the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare published guidelines in 2024. Kirin Brewery began this research in July 2025, aiming to propose 'new ways of drinking' based on scientific evidence. The company plans to implement responsible drinking initiatives based on these findings this summer and continues to aim for the cultivation of a moderate drinking culture.
