Packcity Japan Inc. (PCJ), operator of the open-type delivery locker 'PUDO Station,' is partnering with Kiviaq Inc. to launch a pilot service for picking up pharmaceuticals at PUDO lockers starting Wednesday, May 27. This initiative allows users, even when feeling unwell, to receive medication contactlessly via lockers located along their daily commute without visiting a pharmacy.
PCJ aims to simplify delivery for everyone, freeing them from time and location constraints by utilizing its network of approximately 7,000 lockers nationwide. Kiviaq, with its concept of a 'pharmacy you don't have to visit,' is building new pharmaceutical delivery models, including prescription delivery within 30 minutes of dispensing. Traditional pharmacies have long faced issues such as long wait times, travel burdens, privacy concerns, and risks of secondary infection.
Under this service, medication dispensed via online consultations and digital prescriptions can be picked up at a designated PUDO Station. Users select the locker via Kiviaq's LINE app and use a passcode or QR code sent upon delivery to retrieve their medication. The pilot will verify the convenience of contactless pickup, 24/7 availability, and zero wait times. It begins on May 27, 2026, across approximately 140 locations in parts of Tokyo (Minato, Chiyoda, Shibuya, Shinjuku, Setagaya, and Ota wards).
