KLab Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Tetsuya Sanada) announced on February 9, 2026, the backtest results for its AI-driven automated financial trading system currently under development.
The latest verification focused on a "Long-term Holding AI Model" designed to capture major market trends. In a backtest conducted using Bitcoin as the target asset over a four-year period from January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2025, the model recorded a return on investment (ROI) of +857.60%. This performance is approximately 9.8 times higher than the +87.8% price increase of Bitcoin during the same period.
Furthermore, the system demonstrated strong risk management capabilities. The maximum drawdown was limited to -21.89%, which is roughly one-third of the -67.6% maximum drawdown experienced by holding Bitcoin alone. The model was designed for spot trading applications, utilizing 1x leverage and long-only positions.
Moving forward, KLab plans to integrate this long-term model with its previously announced short-term trading model to create a system that balances stability and profitability. The company intends to transition to live trading using its own capital shortly. Additionally, it is preparing for global commercialization by exploring applications in foreign exchange, stock indices, and other financial products while ensuring compliance with international regulations.
Positioning AI as a key business focus, KLab continues to promote various AI-related ventures, including its GPU cloud service and AI creative production, and will provide ongoing updates on the development of this AI trading system.
