In December 2025, the Bank of Japan raised its policy interest rate to 0.75%, and at the most recent monetary policy meeting on March 19, 2026, it was decided to keep the policy rate unchanged.
As responses to the policy rate progress, major banks, including megabanks, have started to raise interest rates on ordinary deposits to around 0.3%.
Meanwhile, high prices due to rising food and energy costs persist, leading to increased interest in reviewing financial management, with people wondering, 'Is it enough to just keep money in deposits?' or 'Should I be investing?'
Our asset management media, 'Manelabo,' conducted a survey on 'Deposit Preference and Financial Management' targeting men and women in their 20s and older nationwide to investigate consumer awareness and behavior during this period of rising interest rates.
