AI Service "ChatSense" Capable of Learning Box Data to Release Folder Search Function

Knowledge Sense Co., Ltd. This new function will enable searching for documents within Box folders, preserving their hierarchical structure.

The RAG function allows users to add documents such as PDFs and Office files as sources and ask AI questions about the selected sources. ChatSense already provides integration to add Box documents as RAG data sources. The upcoming folder integration function, scheduled for release in June 2026, will allow AI to search within specified Box folders and their subfolders.

Background of the Release

Generative AI, including ChatGPT, is being adopted by many corporations to improve operational efficiency and service quality. Knowledge Sense's "ChatSense" has gained attention for its strengths in providing a secure environment and the ability to learn from internal data, leading to adoption by over 500 companies, including major corporations listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime Market.

ChatSense already offers a feature to use Box content as a RAG data source for AI searches. However, we have received numerous requests from user companies to "enable AI searches not just for individual folders, but for all content within a folder and its subfolders."

In response to these requests, we are planning to release a function in June 2026 that will allow AI to search documents within Box folders while respecting their hierarchical structure. This will make it easier for companies to utilize their internal documents stored in Box for AI searches and conversations, leveraging the existing folder hierarchy.

By simply specifying a Box folder, users can leverage its documents, including those in subfolders, for AI search based on the hierarchical structure. This eliminates the need for extensive integration work for individual folders.

AI can be utilized in a way that directly reflects the existing operational structure of a company's Box, such as departmental folders, project folders, or yearly folders. This allows for cross-folder searches of documents like proposals, reports, meeting minutes, and specifications.

3. Always Refer to the Latest Box Documents Without Local Uploads

Through folder integration with Box, the system will always refer to the latest versions of documents within the folders. This saves companies the effort of duplicate file management or manual synchronization, making RAG utilization smoother for businesses that regularly use Box.
