80 Years with Kobe: Two Heartwarming Summer Initiatives from Kern

Kern Co., Ltd., a long-standing bakery in Kobe (founded in 1946, headquarters in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture), will mark its 80th anniversary in November 2026.

To express gratitude for years of customer support, this summer we are launching two heartwarming initiatives under the theme "80 Years with Kobe—Forever Moving Forward."

First Initiative: "Chocoppe and a More Delicious Everyday" – Chocoppe Card Launch

The 'Chocoppe Card'—perfect as a casual gift.

Kern's flagship product, 'Chocoppe,' features milk chocolate cream sandwiched between soft French bread, offering a simple, gentle sweetness. The Chocoppe Card was created so more people can enjoy this beloved treat more easily.

Now on sale in limited quantities starting July 1.

This convenient punch card allows 15 redemptions of a 2-piece Chocoppe set, offering a saving equivalent to 3.6 sets compared to regular pricing.

Ideal as a thank-you gift, birthday present, souvenir for visitors to Kobe, or a treat for loved ones.

It's also a thoughtful way to quietly say "thank you" in everyday life.

Valid for use from August 1, 2026 (Sat) to December 30, 2026 (Wed).

One card can be shared among coworkers, school club members, PTA groups, or families—making it a reliable companion on days when you need lots of Chocoppes!

Second Initiative: Stamp Rally Across All Kern Stores

One unique feature of Kern is that its branches are located very close to each other.

The distance between Mikage Main Store and Kita-Mikage Store is just 1.07km in a straight line, and between Rokko Store and Main Rokko Store is only 280m.

Due to their proximity, many customers often get confused about which store is which.

To address this, we’ve launched a stamp rally: "Kern has 7 stores in total! Collect stamps from each one!"

Collect stamps from designated locations at each store on a special stamp sheet. Gather 4 different store stamps to receive a 'Kern Original Masking Tape,' or collect all 7 (from every store) to receive an '80th Anniversary Commemorative Clear File (non-sale item).'

The prize illustrations feature not only Chocoppe and Butterppe but also long-selling items like Doitsu, Oimo-hime, and Muenchner.

With an illustrated map in hand, enjoy visiting each store and sampling their unique breads.

There are 7 stamp designs in total. Which bread-themed stamp is located at which store? That’s part of the fun!
