Koikeya to Display Prize Banner for Sumo Wrestler Yoshinofuji from Kumamoto at September Grand Tournament — Supporting a Fellow Kumamoto Native as Kyushu Aso Factory Celebrates 5th Anniversary

Koikeya Co., Ltd. (President: Akira Sato) will display a prize banner for Yoshinofuji, a sumo wrestler from Kumamoto Prefecture, during his matches at the September Grand Sumo Tournament, which begins on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at Ryogoku Kokugikan.

Koikeya operates one of its production facilities, the 'Kyushu Aso Factory,' in Mashiki Town, Kumamoto Prefecture, celebrating its 5th anniversary this year. The factory temporarily suspended production due to the impact of the Reiwa 8 Kumamoto Earthquake that occurred on July 28, 2026, but resumed operations on August 17 after completing safety inspections. We sincerely thank everyone who offered kind words and support during the recovery process.

Yoshinofuji, for whom we are displaying the prize banner, is a native of Kumamoto, the region affected by the recent earthquake. In this milestone year marking the 5th anniversary of the Kyushu Aso Factory, Koikeya decided to support Yoshinofuji, a fellow Kumamoto native, and to deliver encouragement and energy to the people of Kumamoto.
