Kokusai Kogyo Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Hiroshi Kurotaki) has announced that its group hotels, 'Fujiya Hotel' (Miyanoshita, Hakone) and 'SOWAKA' (Gion, Kyoto), have been certified and officially joined the 'Historic Hotels Worldwide' (HHW), a global collection of lodging facilities with historical value.

By joining HHW, the group aims to provide the 'deep immersion experiences in history and culture' sought by luxury travelers around the world, promote and inherit Japan's precious cultural heritage globally, and contribute to regional revitalization through the attraction of inbound tourism.

In recent years, over 90% of luxury travelers have been seeking stays where they can deeply experience culture, making 'heritage' a new frontier in the travel industry. As the trend toward avoiding standardized services strengthens, the group will utilize the network of partner organizations, including the National Trust for Historic Preservation in the United States, through its membership in HHW to directly convey the traditions, prestige, and unique stories of both hotels to 25.85 million affluent individuals and travelers with an interest in culture worldwide.

Kokusai Kogyo Group will continue to fuse the preservation of historical buildings with innovative technology to provide one-of-a-kind experiences that continue to be chosen by guests.
