Dynamic Thought | Stefan Brüggemann 'Extreme Words (Works on Paper)' Held at KOTARO NUKAGA (Roppongi)

At KOTARO NUKAGA (Roppongi), a solo exhibition by Stefan Brüggemann titled "Extreme Words (Works on Paper)" will be held from Saturday, April 18 to Saturday, May 23, 2026.

Brüggemann focuses on the relationship between language and image using various materials. Through a methodology he calls "conceptual pop," he has highlighted the inundation of text and the hollowing out of meaning in modern society. His style is highly acclaimed, and he has presented works at major museums such as the Centre Pompidou and the National Museum of Art in Mexico. With a solo exhibition scheduled at the Museum of Contemporary Art Ibiza (Spain) in June 2026, his future activities are garnering attention.

This exhibition is the first to comprehensively introduce Brüggemann's recent series of drawings in Japan. In contrast to the paintings presented at his exhibitions at KOTARO NUKAGA in 2018 and 2021, please enjoy this practical body of work that unfolds on a single sheet of paper.
