TV Anime "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" 20th Anniversary "SOS Exhibition ~The Haruhi Suzumiya Exhibition That Greatly Enlivened the World~" Announced!

Kyodo Printing Co., Ltd., fave Inc., and CRAZY BUMP Inc. will hold an exhibition to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the TV anime "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya." The "SOS Exhibition ~The Haruhi Suzumiya Exhibition That Greatly Enlivened the World~" will be held at Sunshine City Exhibition Hall D starting August 10, 2026 (Mon).

The exhibition is divided into two parts: the "Memories of Haruhi Suzumiya" corner, which looks back on the story with valuable setting materials and photo spots such as the SOS Brigade's clubroom, and the "Phenomenon of Haruhi Suzumiya" corner, which introduces the impact of the work on contemporary culture from multiple perspectives.

Original goods featuring newly drawn illustrations for this exhibition, as well as a guidebook containing exhibition details, will also be available for sale.

[About "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya"]

The "Haruhi Suzumiya" series is a science fiction-flavored school story based on the light novel series of the same name, written by Nagaru Tanigawa and illustrated by Noizi Ito, published by Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko. It follows the adventures of the "SOS Brigade," an unofficial club at school led by Haruhi Suzumiya.

The 2006 TV anime adaptation gained explosive popularity through the internet due to its non-linear storytelling that shuffled the chronological order of events and the dance featured in the ending theme song "Hare Hare Yukai," becoming a social phenomenon.
