Kyorin University will hold a public lecture for the general public as follows.
The Bank of Japan significantly influences yen interest rates, exchange rates, and prices through its monetary policy. This lecture will provide an easy-to-understand explanation of how the Bank of Japan operates its monetary policy and its decision-making processes. It will also examine issues surrounding the future of the Japanese economy and finance in the context of rising interest rates following the end of the "unconventional monetary policy" that lasted for over a decade until March 2024. Furthermore, it will touch upon the digitalization of finance amidst the progress of cashless payments due to technological innovation.

Nobuyuki Oda Professor, Faculty of Policy Studies, Kyorin University Specialization: Monetary Policy / Macro Finance / Finance Theory Former Bank of Japan Branch Manager. During his tenure at the Bank of Japan, he served in the Institute for Monetary and Economic Studies, the Planning Department, and the International Department.
