NALYSYS (https://nalysys.jp/service/), an AI HR platform operated by Leverages Inc., conducted an awareness survey on 'AI interviews' targeting 328 students expected to graduate between 2027 and 2029.

<Survey Summary>

Approximately 80% of students feel anxious about document screening due to the spread of generative AI. AI-savvy students tend to feel a stronger sense of crisis regarding 'homogenization' and 'academic background filters.'

Anxiety about human-led interviews is dominated by concerns about 'interviewer lottery' (luck of the draw). Students seek 'objective and fair evaluation' in interviews.

More than one in three students have a positive impression of 'AI interviews.' However, there is also anxiety about whether 'passion' can be conveyed.

More than half of students are anxious about 'preparation' for AI interviews. Lack of transparency in evaluation criteria and lack of experience are psychological hurdles.

1. Approximately 80% of students feel anxious about document screening due to generative AI; AI-savvy students feel a stronger crisis regarding 'homogenization.'

When asked about their usage of generative AI in daily life, university assignments, and job hunting, about one in four students replied they use it 'almost every day' (25.9%). Combined with students who use it 'several times a week' (38.7%), over 60% can be defined as an 'AI-savvy layer' that utilizes generative AI daily.

In particular, 44.5% of students have used generative AI for creating job hunting documents; approximately one in two students are already utilizing it. Including those with intention to use it, this figure rises to over 80%, indicating that for students, AI has become an 'essential tool for job hunting.'

Given this situation, when asked if they feel anxious about current document screening as AI usage in Entry Sheet (ES) creation becomes generalized, approximately 80% (80.5%) of students reported feeling some form of anxiety, excluding the 19.5% who said they had no particular concerns.

The most common reason for this anxiety was 'because everyone uses generative AI, texts become similar and differentiation is impossible' (40.5%), followed by 'by homogenization of texts, I fear I will be filtered out based solely on surface-level specs like academic background or qualifications instead of content' (38.1%).

2. Anxiety about human-led interviews is dominated by 'interviewer lottery'; students seek 'objective and fair evaluation.'

When investigating anxiety regarding human-led interviews, the most common response was 'I fear being evaluated based on an interviewer's subjectivity or prejudice (preconception)' (40.9%). This was followed by 'I fear whether success or failure will depend on compatibility with the interviewer' (37.8%) and 'I get nervous and cannot show my original ability or true self' (37.8%).

Against this backdrop, the most common expectation for corporate interviews was 'objective and fair evaluation not swayed by an interviewer's subjectivity' (38.7%).

3. More than one in three students have a positive impression of 'AI interviews.' However, there is also anxiety about whether 'passion' can be conveyed.

Awareness of 'AI interviews' among students has reached over 80%. Regarding impressions of 'AI interviews,' more than one in three responded they were 'positive' (34.7%).
