Life Design Kabaya Kagawa Branch Grand Opens Experiential Housing Showroom

Life Design Kabaya Co., Ltd. (Representative Director and President: Kentaro Kubota / Headquarters: Okayama City, Okayama Prefecture) grand opened 'Kouzou Lab.', an experiential housing showroom, on the premises of its Kagawa Branch (Utazu-cho, Ayauta-gun, Kagawa Prefecture) on Saturday, April 4, 2026.

### Kagawa Branch Kouzou Lab.

Kouzou Lab. is an experiential showroom built using the company's originally developed 'CLT Hybrid Construction Method', which is adopted in the detached house product 'CLT MASTERS' launched in October 2024.

The concept is to help visitors understand the 'unseen parts' of wooden architecture by actually experiencing them through videos and models. Since the first building was opened in Okayama Prefecture, it has been well received by many customers, and this time, the third building in Japan has been opened in Kagawa Prefecture.

Moving forward, we aim to open similar showrooms at each branch to allow people to experience the structure and performance of homes more closely.

### CLT Bench and Social Contribution Project

The CLT bench installed on the second floor of this showroom was designed and manufactured by students of the Architecture Department of Kagawa Prefectural Tadotsu High School.

Since November 2023, Life Design Kabaya has launched a 'Social Contribution Project Utilizing CLT' in industry-academia collaboration with the aim of promoting the spread of CLT and supporting the development of local education and industry. As part of this initiative, the company donated CLT panels, and students from Kagawa Prefectural Tadotsu High School designed and manufactured CLT benches, which were then donated to Tadotsu Town.

In February 2025, this initiative was recognized, and the company was awarded as a decarbonization promotion business by the Setouchi Chusan Residential Self-Reliance Zone (2 cities and 3 towns).

Moving forward, our company intends to contribute widely to the development of local communities through initiatives aimed at regional contribution and the realization of a decarbonized society by utilizing CLT.

### About the "CLT Hybrid Construction Method" adopted in the detached house product "CLT MASTERS"

The CLT Hybrid Construction Method is Life Design Kabaya's original method for detached houses, which incorporates minister-certified octagonal CLT shear walls into the bracing sections of wooden post-and-beam construction.

CLT is a wood building material mainly used in medium- and high-rise buildings such as condominiums and commercial facilities overseas. Its use in residential homes was considered over-spec and offered few cost benefits. Therefore, Life Design Kabaya developed its own unique CLT construction method suitable for residential use. In full-scale vibration table tests, seismic waves of magnitude 5 to 7 were input continuously 70 times, and no significant damage was observed in the structural parts without retightening hold-down metal fittings, achieving "a house that can continue to win against earthquakes and continue to be lived in."
