Lion Corporation (President and CEO: Yukiyoshi Takekawa) and Toyo Ink Co., Ltd. of the artience Group (President: Hideki Yasuda) have jointly developed a refill pack, "Look Plus Bathtub Cleanser Citrus Fresh Scent Refill Large Size," which has won the "WorldStar Award" in the Household category at the WorldStar Competition 2026, hosted by the World Packaging Organisation (WPO).
The refill pack, co-developed with Toyo Ink Co., Ltd., was recognized for its practical application of "delamination recycling technology." By optimizing adhesive design, this technology enables easy separation of multiple materials, allowing high-quality "polyethylene film" to be efficiently collected as a single material for recycling. This innovation addresses the challenge of expanding recycled material usage in flexible packaging, a limitation of conventional laminated film structures, and was a key factor in receiving the award.
Award ceremony (May 8, 2026, Düsseldorf, Germany)
Our group aims to reduce the use of fossil-derived plastics to 70% or less of total plastic resources used in products and packaging by 2030, as part of our commitment to achieving a circular economy ("LION Eco Challenge 2050" (Note 1)). Amid rising environmental awareness and increasing concerns over raw material price volatility and stable supply, particularly for plastics, we anticipate continued growth in recycling initiatives.
Under our corporate purpose, "Contributing to people's daily lives by fostering better habits," we will promote the habit of "not wasting plastic" and continue contributing to a sustainable society through innovative, resource-efficient packaging solutions.
