Gekidan TipTap, directed by Kazuo Ueda, who has directed numerous musical productions including Toho works, will stage "The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals" as the second part of its commemorative performances celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.

This work is a musical that premiered in 2018 by the Los Angeles-based StarKid Productions, based on the horror film "Invasion of the Body Snatchers / Terror City," released in 1956. Starring Wataru Mizuta, who previously collaborated with Kazuo Ueda on "Reefer Madness," and Chika Yabiku, who impressed with her overwhelming vocal talent in TipTap's original musical "Play a Life," as the heroine. In addition, a cast of unique actors active in many musicals and stage plays such as Marika Dandoi, Ryosuke Kobayashi, Mirei, Masaki Kamata, Oreno Graffiti, and Shinichiro Hara, will join Kazuo Ueda in tackling the Japanese premiere of this B-movie horror-comedy musical!

Synopsis Paul (Wataru Mizuta), who dislikes musicals, feels uncomfortable as people around him suddenly start singing and dancing. Emma (Chika Yabiku), a cafe waitress whom Paul has a crush on, also senses this anomaly. Seeking to uncover what is happening in the town, the two visit a certain university professor.
