Le Locle / Tokyo, June 2, 2026: Zenith continues its pursuit of high-precision watchmaking and unparalleled craftsmanship. In its enduring legacy, the Calibre 135 holds a special place. During the golden age of observatory chronometer competitions, this movement won the most awards and became widely known as a symbol of technical excellence.
This legend was revived in the modern era through an extremely rare limited edition released by Zenith in 2022. The 10 Calibre 135-O movements featured were meticulously recreated by master watchmaker Kari Voutilainen, based on the 1950s observatory competition specifications. In 2025, to commemorate Zenith's 160th anniversary, the Calibre 135 was redesigned and began beating within the new 'G.F.J.' collection, named after the manufacture's founder, Georges Favre-Jacot. Now, 'G.F.J.' reveals a new facet through a double-signed model with independent watchmaker NAOYA HIDA & Co. The refined and understated design of NAOYA HIDA & Co. offers a creative interpretation of the Calibre 135. For Naoya Hida, this project is more than a collaboration; it is an encounter with a movement he has studied, pursued, and lived with for many years. Infused with quiet respect for history, this piece vividly highlights the symbolism of the Calibre 135 in the tradition of chronometry.
