LINE Yahoo has updated the earthquake and tsunami information display on the 'Yahoo! Weather' app (Android). Moving from web-view images to map-based displays, users can now check conditions around their current or registered locations on interactive, zoomable maps.

LINE Yahoo Corporation has refreshed the earthquake and tsunami information on the 'Yahoo! Weather' app (Android version).

By renewing the display format from an image on a web view to a format displayed on an in-app map, visibility has been improved, and the system now supports map movement and scaling changes. Additionally, by displaying information on the user's current location or registered municipalities on the map, users can more quickly and intuitively check the situation at locations they are concerned about, such as where they are or near their family homes.

At the 'Yahoo! Weather' app, in addition to weather forecasts and various radar data, we are strengthening our disaster prevention and disaster information dissemination to provide necessary information more clearly during disasters, and are expanding various features.

In this update, earthquake information now supports estimated seismic intensity distribution, allowing for a more detailed understanding of the extent of shaking. Regarding tsunami information, in addition to 'Tsunami Advisory', 'Tsunami Warning', and 'Major Tsunami Warning', we have newly added support for 'Tsunami Forecast' and 'Inundation Expected Area (Hazard Map)'.
