EDIX Tokyo 2026 Booth Exhibition Announcement: Theme is 'Learning Tourism that Nurtures the Future'

Introducing "Learning Tourism that Nurtures the Future" Minamisanriku Town, located on the coast of Miyagi Prefecture, is an area that suffered tremendous damage in the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake. Since the earthquake, under the philosophy of "A town where life circulates through people, forests, villages, and the sea," the town has been developing sustainable community-building, including acquiring ASC/FSC international certifications. We propose "Learning Tourism that Nurtures the Future," which uses the entire region as a field. This includes disaster prevention and mitigation programs to help apply the lessons from the earthquake to future disasters, active learning utilizing the local resources of forests, villages, and the sea, marine activities, and local lifestyle experiences based on primary industries. * The "Learning Tourism that Nurtures the Future Project" won the Special Award at the 8th Japan Tourism Awards (2024).

Booth Features 〇 Information provision on inquiry-based learning, corporate training, etc. We propose programs in line with current trends and customer needs, such as disaster prevention and mitigation programs, "Active Learning," and "SDGs Programs" provided jointly with specialized institutions in the area. We disseminate "learning using the entire region as a field," which only a local tourism association can provide, and expand the possibilities of educational programs utilizing local resources. We also accept consultations for tailor-made study tours.
