Everyone knows Christmas. But do you know Buddha's birthday? Let's celebrate the birth of Buddha! Reina Suetomi, Chair of the Okusu Hanamatsuri Executive Committee, appreciating the richness and connections of this land, connected the sea, mountains, flowers, and Buddha; this was the starting point of this festival.
Buddhism is "a teaching that moves away from suffering and towards ease (joy)." We want to create a place where people can naturally encounter these teachings—filled with hints for all who seek happiness—in their daily lives. That is the core thought behind this event.
