Tokyo Bay Maihama Hotel First Resort to Host Limited-Time Furano Melon Sweets Buffet in July and August 2026

Tokyo Bay Maihama Hotel First Resort, an official hotel of Tokyo Disney Resort® located in Urayasu, Chiba, has announced it will hold a Furano Melon Sweets Buffet for a total of five days: July 18-20 and August 15-16, 2026.

The buffet will spotlight Furano melon, one of Hokkaido's representative brand-name melons. The event will feature 20 types of sweets using the 'Tiara' variety of red-fleshed melon, known for its exceptionally high sugar content. In addition to melon-based desserts, the buffet will offer over 30 kinds of sweets in total, including summer-themed desserts using passion fruit, mango, and coconut, as well as the hotel's classic pastries. A selection of savory hors d'oeuvres and light meals will also be available.

The Furano region is renowned for producing high-quality melons due to its climate, which is characterized by significant temperature differences typical of a basin, long daylight hours, and minimal rainy season. Melons grown in this area are known for their strong sweetness and firm, satisfying texture.

The buffet menu includes items from a live kitchen, such as 'Melon à la Mode' and 'Passion Fruit Chiboust', alongside a wide array of sweets highlighting the melon, like 'Furano Melon Shortcake' and 'Furano Melon Tart'. The savory selection includes hot and cold dishes such as 'Hokkaido Octopus Carpaccio', 'Genghis Khan-style BBQ', and 'Soup Curry', making for a comprehensive dining experience.
