As digital technology spreads rapidly, the reliance on internet and cloud services has expanded the 'attack surface' available to cybercriminals. Ransomware attacks, in particular, have seen a sharp rise. According to the National Police Agency, more than 80% of infection routes involve intrusions through VPNs or remote desktop devices.
