Nordic Traditional Fair 2026: Discover Nordic Food and Handicrafts

The Japan Viking Association (Tokyo) will host the "Nordic Traditional Fair 2026," an event where visitors can easily enjoy Nordic culture, for two days on May 5 (Tuesday) and May 6 (Wednesday), 2026, at The Old Arrow, a British pub in Nishi-Ogikubo, Tokyo.

This event offers a casual opportunity to experience Nordic culture, featuring Nordic regional cuisine and drinks, a craft market, and experiential corners.

Enjoy discovering your favorites at the Nordic food and craft market

One of the charms of the Nordic Traditional Fair is the opportunity to enjoy small, easy-to-eat portions of regional dishes from various Nordic countries.

In the past, we have offered Swedish "Kroppkaka," Icelandic "Fiskibollur," and "1000-year-old Smørrebrød" inspired by Vikings.

This time, too, we plan to offer a menu where you can easily enjoy Nordic food and drinks.

In addition, a craft market featuring artists inspired by Nordic traditions and Vikings will be held. Unique items such as Viking accessories, leather goods, and hand-woven products, rarely seen elsewhere, will be on display.

Enjoy ancient Nordic tales with a drink in hand

As a special project this time, we will hold "Introduction to Norse Mythology and Swedish History."

This is a talk event where even beginners can easily enjoy Norse mythology and Swedish history. The venue will also feature an exhibition of paintings depicting ancient stories and history, with the artists themselves speaking about their work.

You can enjoy it with a Nordic drink in hand, reminiscing about distant times.

Become a Viking yourself! Experience corner where you can wear a shield and helmet

At the venue, we offer an experience corner where you can get acquainted with Nordic culture while playing.

The "Shield and Helmet Wearing Experience," where you can actually put on Viking equipment, is a popular free activity. It has been well-received by a wide range of people, from children to adults, at previous events.

With the "Rune Omikuji Charm," using ancient Nordic letters, you can try your luck with the meaning of the drawn character. It's a charm made of natural leather that can also be used as a necklace or bag charm.
