Bookstore University 'Akahon' is Finally Published!

Maruzen Junkudo Bookstore Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo) has been implementing projects since January 2026 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Junkudo Bookstore.

In February 2026, to break the recent publishing slump, we launched a campaign where participants could take an entrance exam for the fictional 'Bookstore University,' aimed at the early training of high-spec super bookstore clerks.

**📘 What is Bookstore University?**

Established through donations from publishers, bookstore staff, and lovers of books and bookstores to overcome the recent publishing slump.

A university aimed at the early training of high-spec super bookstore clerks, with an educational content of deep book knowledge, advanced bookstore operational skills, and broad general knowledge.

After graduating from Bookstore University, graduates pass an entrance exam and are assigned to various Junkudo Bookstore locations after only an interview.
