HADO USA, which manages the US operations of the AR activity 'HADO' developed by meleap Inc. (Headquarters: Tokyo; CEO: Hiroshi Fukuda), has been selected as a finalist in the 'Best Location-Based Entertainment' category at the 'Auggie Awards 2026,' held during AWE USA 2026.
The Auggie Awards, described on the AWE official website as the most recognized AR/VR industry awards, have been running since 2010. This 17th edition will have winners announced during a ceremony at AWE USA 2026.
HADO USA plans to host an experiential booth for HADO at the 'AWE Playground' within the AWE USA 2026 venue.
Past winners of the Auggie Awards include 'Google Maps Live View,' Microsoft's 'Mixed Reality Toolkit for Unity,' and Snap Inc.'s AR glasses, 'Spectacles.'
HADO is an AR sports activity where players wear headsets and arm sensors to compete while moving their bodies in physical space. It is utilized in various settings including domestic and international facilities, events, education, and corporate activities.
Hiroshi Fukuda, CEO of meleap Inc., commented: 'We have provided an experience where players move physically in the real world and strategize with teammates. While using AR technology, we prioritize human-to-human interaction within the same space. Being selected as a finalist in this award category, where distinguished AR/VR products and companies have been honored, serves as a significant opportunity to introduce HADO as a global location-based XR entertainment.'
