The EXPO-PHR Secretariat held the 'PHR Social Implementation Acceleration Event' on March 18, 2026, in Minato-ku, Tokyo, as part of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's (METI) demonstration project for creating new services using Personal Health Records (PHR). Over 80 PHR business stakeholders (including online participants) attended. The event featured results sharing, a keynote speech by Hiroki Fujimoto, Executive Officer of Sumitomo Life Insurance, panel discussions, and workshops. It served as a forum to review the outcomes of PHR service creation and discuss breakthroughs and necessary steps for social implementation. The project, supported by METI, aims to implement new services using PHR via the 'PHR CYCLE' infrastructure. Following the Osaka-Kansai Expo, efforts are continuing in nursing and multi-professional collaboration. Participants discussed monetization challenges, the importance of evidence-based scaling, and the potential for toG (government-oriented) models. Workshops introduced AI tools for stakeholder interviews and a developer portal to streamline PHR integration.
