The Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) is developing marriage and childcare support policies that are responsive to the anxieties and concerns of Tokyo residents, while respecting diverse values, to realize a society where those who wish to marry can take a positive step forward, and where those who wish to have children can do so with peace of mind.
To support the self-actualization of those who 'want to get married' or 'want to have children' and to foster a sense of security regarding marriage and child-rearing in Tokyo, TMG publishes monthly videos on various themes that clearly explain its initiatives.
Video Overview
For May, we created a video themed on 'housing' titled, 'We Want to Support Your Housing Dreams for Marriage and Child-rearing!'
The video introduces affordable housing, which allows households with children to live at reasonable rents, as well as 'Tokyo Kodomo Sukusuku Housing,' which features child-friendly layouts and accident-prevention equipment.
The video is available on the Office for Children's Policy website and YouTube channel.
(Reference) Video Released in April
In April, we created a video themed on 'marriage.'
The video presents data on changing meeting opportunities and trends in the number of marriages in Tokyo, while introducing various initiatives to support and celebrate those who wish to get married.
TMG has formulated the 'Action Plan 2026: We Want to Support Your Dreams' as a comprehensive roadmap for seamless marriage and childcare support throughout life stages.
This project is an initiative to promote the '2050 Tokyo Strategy,' specifically Strategy 02, 'Creating a Child-rearing-friendly Environment.'
