The Tokyo Institute of Science Adult Academy (implemented by: School of Environment and Society, Career-up MOT (CUMOT)) and Mirai Creation Investments, a venture capital firm collaborating with the university to support the founding and growth of deep tech startups (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Hiroyuki Okada), have announced the opening of applications for the joint program, the "2026 Deep Tech Entrepreneurship Course."

The program will be held for six sessions from August 20 (Thu) to September 24 (Thu), 2026, at the Tamachi Campus of the Tokyo Institute of Science. It is aimed at professionals, faculty members, and students who are serious about starting a venture or participating in management as a CxO of a deep tech startup, seeking to foster next-generation deep tech entrepreneurs through practical lectures and discussions.

Background of the Program: The importance of deep tech startups is increasing year by year in implementing research results from universities and research institutions into society to create new industries and business value. However, the shortage of management talent responsible for the commercialization of R&D-based startups and entrepreneurial talent capable of leading business creation from research seeds remains a major challenge.

Mirai Creation Investments has been working on consistent support from the pre-founding stage to commercialization, fundraising, and management support for R&D-based startups. The course, conducted in collaboration with Tokyo Institute of Science CUMOT, has received more applications than the capacity for two consecutive years since its first launch in fiscal year 2024, and has been highly evaluated, with 100% of participants responding that they were "satisfied" in satisfaction surveys.
