Mitsubishi Electric Corporation announced that Tadakiyo Seki, an engineer at its Design Technology Development Center, has been awarded the title of 'Kaggle Competitions Master' on Kaggle, the world's largest AI competition platform.

Kaggle allows participants from around the globe to compete by solving challenges presented by companies and research institutions using mathematical modeling and machine learning. Participants are awarded medals based on their performance, and titles are granted according to the total number of medals earned.

By integrating the knowledge of physical modeling cultivated through daily R&D with machine learning technologies, Seki has been participating in Kaggle competitions since 2024. He earned a gold medal in the 'March Machine Learning Mania 2025' competition, ranking 10th out of 1,727 teams in statistically predicting basketball match results, and a silver medal in the 'PhysioNet - Digitization of ECG Images' competition, ranking 63rd out of 1,424 teams for extracting waveform data from ECG images. Recently, by winning a silver medal in 'Stanford RNA 3D Folding Part 2'—a competition held from January 7 to March 25, 2026, to predict 3D structures from RNA base sequences—where he ranked 44th out of 1,867 teams, he attained the title of 'Kaggle Competitions Master,' awarded to the top 1.3% of Kaggle participants.

The company is driving a transformation into an 'Innovative Company' that creates value through new ideas without fearing risks. Going forward, the company aims to leverage the high technical capabilities of engineers like Seki to develop next-generation manufacturing technologies using AI and data science and solve social issues by creating new value.
