FREAK’S STORE Launches First Maternity Wear Series, Supported by Moririn’s 3D Tech and Production Expertise

Moririn Co., Ltd., a specialized textile trading company, provided 3D digital technology and product planning/production support for FREAK'S STORE's first maternity wear series. Maternity clothing has long faced challenges in achieving design precision, as standard fit verification is difficult due to changing body shapes during pregnancy. Moririn solved this by utilizing 3D avatars of maternity body types, enabling clothes designed to be worn throughout pregnancy. By combining this with a proprietary survey of experienced mothers, the company developed a series equipped with functionality and design tailored to real-life use cases. The series has been available since May 2026 on the FREAK'S STORE official online store, 'Daytona Park,' and other online platforms.

Moririn responded to these challenges with 3D avatar technology. Based on average body type data for Japanese women, they created 3D avatars with maternity-period bust, waist, and hip dimensions as the standard. By realizing fit verification in digital space, the company enabled high-precision design while minimizing the number of prototypes.

For the planning phase, a survey was conducted among 441 mothers who have purchased and worn maternity wear. Their real feedback was reflected in the product's functional design and lineup.

This series is designed with an emphasis on long-term wearability from pregnancy through postpartum. Despite being maternity wear, it features a design that naturally fits into everyday styling.
