Flavor reminiscent of top Right Bank châteaux, nurtured by blue clay soil
"Blue clay," famously found in Pomerol, the region home to Petrus, is an extremely rare and limited soil type. This special blue clay exists in only a few locations outside Pomerol, and Château La Motte Vincent owns a vineyard plot in the Entre-Deux-Mers region, an area gaining attention for its outstanding value.
Only Merlot is planted in this single vineyard of just 3 hectares, with meticulous vineyard management carried out to fully understand and express the unique characteristics of each plot. The rich fruitiness, supple texture, and full expression of Merlot's inherent qualities, all derived from the blue clay soil, produce a wine of remarkable depth reminiscent of the finest Right Bank châteaux.
A winemaking philosophy that maximizes Merlot's potential
Grapes used for "Grand Rosignol" undergo rigorous selection after harvest. Cold pre-fermentation maceration is then performed to gently extract rich aromas, color, and complex flavors from the grape skins. Furthermore, whole-cluster fermentation is employed to preserve the purity of the fruit, resulting in a highly aromatic and elegant style.
With yields strictly limited to just 38 hl/ha, the wine is crafted through rigorous yield control and uncompromising winemaking processes, achieving a concentrated and refined balance that rivals top-tier châteaux in quality. The fusion of exceptional terroir and skilled craftsmanship results in a wine that offers exceptional value beyond its price point.
