MTI Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as 'the Company') has added a new feature called the 'Weather Posting Function' to its guerrilla rainstorm detection app, '3D Rain Cloud Watch,' starting Friday, July 10.
This feature allows users to post their current location's weather using icons for 'Sunny,' 'Cloudy,' 'Rain,' and 'Hail/Sleet,' with the information displayed directly on the app's map. Users can also view weather reports posted by others.
This enables users to better understand real-time weather conditions around their current location or destination. Additionally, the Company will utilize the collected data to further enhance the accuracy of its meteorological prediction technologies.
◆ Enhancing User Convenience and Meteorological Forecasting: Introducing the 'Weather Posting Function' to '3D Rain Cloud Watch'
'3D Rain Cloud Watch' is a guerrilla rainstorm detection app that visualizes rain clouds across Japan in 3D and predicts the risk of sudden downpours and lightning, sending push notifications to users.
Starting July 10, in addition to providing predictive alerts for sudden rainstorms, lightning, and hail, the app now includes the 'Weather Posting Function,' allowing users to share real-time weather observations. By posting their own weather conditions and viewing those of others on the map, users can gain a more accurate understanding of local weather not only near their current location but also around destinations.
Moving forward, the Company plans to analyze and utilize user-submitted data to further improve the accuracy of meteorological predictions—such as hail forecasts provided by the 'Hail Risk Map' feature introduced on June 22—aiming to deliver more reliable weather information and reduce damage from weather-related disasters.

<About the '3D Rain Cloud Watch' App>
'3D Rain Cloud Watch' uses advanced meteorological radar data—including the 'Multi-Parameter Phased Array Weather Radar' and the Japan Meteorological Agency's C-band radar—to visualize rain clouds in 3D across Japan. The app predicts the likelihood of sudden, hard-to-detect downpours and sends smartphone push notifications approximately 15 to 20 minutes in advance. It also alerts users to lightning, heavy snowfall (with region-specific thresholds), and hail, supporting preparedness for sudden weather disasters and aiming to reduce associated damages.
