The Shonan Open Executive Committee is proud to announce the 'MURASAKI SHONAN OPEN 2026,' a cross-cultural beach festival celebrating action sports, to be held from Saturday, July 18 to Monday, July 20, 2026 (a national holiday), at Kugenuma Beach in Fujisawa City—the birthplace of Japanese surfing and one of Japan’s premier beach resorts.

The beach area will be open for three days from July 18 (Sat) to July 20 (Mon, holiday), while the park area will operate for two days from July 19 (Sun) to July 20 (Mon, holiday).

Attendees will experience world-class performances in Olympic disciplines such as surfing, skateboarding, BMX, and breaking, up close and personal. The event will also feature experiential zones where visitors can try skateboarding, BMX, and running bikes, a food area showcasing Shonan’s vibrant culinary culture, and numerous booths from sponsors.

Additionally, free live streaming of the park area events will be available on 'GAORA On Demand.' Experience the thrilling performances by Japan’s top riders and world-class athletes, along with the unique energy and excitement of Shonan—live from the venue or from anywhere across the country.

Please note: Athlete participation is subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances.

The venue will also host a wide variety of popular food trucks from the Shonan area, offering diverse and delicious cuisine. In the open, beachside atmosphere, guests can enjoy everything from local specialties to trendy gourmet dishes, adding authentic 'Shonan flavor' to their event experience.

Skateboarding / ONE SHOT KING supported by Dai-ichi Life

A completely original park contest produced by Sakura Johai, gold medalist in women’s park skateboarding at the Tokyo Olympics (Dai-ichi Life). The invited athletes include Yuki Nagahara, winner of the 2025 Men’s Park National Championship, Minaya Inomata, silver medalist at X Games Chiba 2026, and rising star Yuki Nishikawa, bronze medalist at X Games. On the women’s side, Sakura Johai herself, the event’s producer, will finally compete! Top female park riders leading Japan’s next generation, including Rui Sugahara and Akari Satake, will also join the lineup.

Skateboarding / Rock Away

A fully invitation-only street skateboarding contest produced by Chatty Chatty, a leading skate crew from Shonan. The event brings together a diverse group of skaters, including underground legends rarely seen at regular competitions. World No. 1 in rankings and Tokyo Olympian Kōryū Shiraishi will compete, alongside top domestic talent Taiki Ikeda. On the women’s side, Tokyo bronze medalist and X Games Chiba 2026 silver medalist Funa Nakayama, and Nana Ōnishi, a designated national team member active at the top domestic level, will join. Japan’s top female street skaters will deliver world-class tricks and electrify the crowd.

In BMX Freestyle Park, Ryumon Nakamura—Olympian at both Tokyo and Paris Games—will compete alongside top domestic rider Jōji Mizogaki. Expect high-octane performances from the world’s best.
