Now supporting five new video sizes.
Mavericks Inc. (Headquarters: Bunkyo City, Tokyo; CEO: Shota Okuno), provider of the AI video generation tool NoLang, has expanded the selectable aspect ratios in its video editing interface to seven types. In addition to the existing 16:9 and 9:16 formats, the company has added 1:1, 4:5, 2:3, 4:3, and 21:9. With a simple button click, users can now automatically generate a new video with the desired aspect ratio while preserving the original. This enables simultaneous distribution to multiple platforms without the need to manually recreate videos for each social network.

Diverse Aspect Ratios Across Social Platforms: The Burden on Content Creators
In video marketing, distributing a single video across multiple platforms is standard practice. According to Wistia’s 'State of Video Report 2026' (surveying over 900 marketing and video production professionals, published April 2026), 76% of teams adjust video aspect ratios for each posting platform, with half stating they do so “every time.” Over half of teams repurpose video clips for social media, distributing them across multiple platforms including LinkedIn (67%), Instagram (49%), and YouTube (41%) (※1).
The situation in Japan is similar, with companies routinely operating multiple social platforms in parallel, including Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and LINE (※2).
Even after creating one video, differences in aspect ratios—such as 1:1 for Instagram Feed, 9:16 for Reels and TikTok, and 16:9 for YouTube—require teams to either recreate the video each time or outsource additional versions. When changing ratios using video editing software, simply cropping the frame risks cutting off subjects or text, necessitating manual re-layout and element repositioning.
The burden of creating multiple versions is often shouldered solely by social media managers. Wistia’s finding that half of teams adjust ratios “every time” (※1) indicates this is not a one-time task but a recurring operational duty with every post.

Adding Five New Aspect Ratios: 1:1, 4:5, and More
The five new aspect ratios added by Mavericks Inc. for NoLang are 1:1, 4:5, 2:3, 4:3, and 21:9. Users can now change a video’s aspect ratio with a single click on the 'Convert' button in the video viewing or detail screen.
The original video remains untouched, while a new video with the specified aspect ratio is generated separately. For example, a 16:9 Japanese explanatory video can be preserved as the master, while derivative versions—such as 1:1, 4:5, and 9:16—can be created as needed, enabling efficient video asset management.
One-Click Video Creation: No More Starting from Scratch
Previously, creating videos in different aspect ratios required re-editing assets or using external tools for cropping. Especially for videos containing text, avatars, or subtitles, applying a horizontal layout directly to a vertical format could result in cut-off subtitles or avatars extending beyond the frame, requiring manual repositioning each time the ratio changed. This update eliminates that need—by simply selecting an aspect ratio from an existing video, the system automatically performs the conversion.

Additionally, language conversion and aspect ratio conversion are now integrated into the same process. Combinations such as an English version in 1:1 format can be specified in a single operation, eliminating the need for separate steps. The effort previously spent recreating videos for each social platform is now reduced to a single action: selecting a ratio from one source video.
Simultaneous Multi-Platform Distribution from One Video
For product introduction videos, teams can first create a 16:9 landscape video for YouTube ads or web use, then generate additional versions—such as a 9:16 vertical video for TikTok and a 1:1 square video for Instagram Feed—from the same source. With multiple formats ready without re-shooting or re-planning, simultaneous distribution to YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram becomes possible, reaching diverse user bases across platforms. Multiple channels can now be served with the same production time previously spent on a single video, enabling comparative analysis of performance and ad effectiveness across platforms.

Similarly, for recruitment videos or event announcements, creating both 9:16 versions for TikTok and Reels and 4:5 versions for feed posts allows optimized parallel distribution across different social platforms. Even when deadlines or event dates are approaching, teams can prepare promotional materials without pausing to reshoot for each ratio, freeing up time to refine messaging instead of production logistics.
As the number of distribution channels increases, production workload previously grew proportionally. After this update, only the number of button clicks increases—there is no additional burden on planning or filming. The number of derivative assets generated from a single video concept can now expand without increasing the workload on staff.
Future Outlook
Mavericks Inc. will continue to provide an environment where businesses can directly deploy a single video asset across multiple distribution channels through its AI video generation tool NoLang. This expansion of aspect ratio options marks a significant step in enhancing the conversion functionality, alongside the existing language conversion feature. By focusing not only on video creation but also on maximizing the reuse of created videos across multiple platforms, the company aims to replace repetitive manual tasks with AI, enabling content creators to dedicate more time to planning and improving content.
