Mynavi Corporation (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Shunsuke Aii) held the career exploration event 'Career Encyclopedia: Learning in Real Life' on Monday, July 13, 2026, at the Tokyo Metropolitan Industrial and Trade Center Hamamatsucho. This marks the second consecutive year the event has been held. Approximately 750 middle school students and 18 companies and organizations representing various industries and occupations participated, delivering presentations and workshops to deepen students’ understanding of different jobs.
Background and Purpose
According to a Mynavi survey※1, over half of university freshmen and sophomores have not yet decided their career direction. In contrast, more than 70% of those who have already determined their career path began thinking about their future during middle or high school.
In response to these findings, since July 2024, Mynavi has been conducting outreach career education classes at middle schools nationwide using an original card game teaching material※2. This event builds upon that initiative by offering middle school students the opportunity to directly interact with representatives from various companies, enabling them to learn about industries and occupations in a more realistic and tangible way. This is the second time the event has been held.
Companies representing a wide range of industries and occupations set up booths, offering exhibitions and workshops where students could learn about job roles. The goal was to deepen students’ understanding of real-world work and inspire them to think about their future careers.
This event was held free of charge as part of Mynavi’s social contribution activities, made possible through the cooperation of participating companies.

Event Highlights
The event featured two main areas: the 'Experience Booth: Learning Career Encyclopedia Through Card Games,' where students could try Mynavi’s original card game teaching material used in outreach classes, and the 'Company Booths,' where students could directly interact with company representatives.
Participants learned about the connections between industries and occupations through the card game and deepened their understanding of actual job roles and industry characteristics at each company booth. Exposure to diverse jobs, work styles, and their interconnections provided students with valuable opportunities to reflect on their own futures.
Company Booths
The event categorized industries and occupations into four groups: 'Jobs that Create,' 'Jobs Involving Experts and Public Service,' 'Jobs that Support Daily Life,' and 'Jobs Involving Sales, Purchasing, and Transportation.' A total of 18 companies and organizations, each representing one of these categories, participated with booths. Middle school students experienced parts of actual jobs through presentations and workshops, learning not only the basics of each industry and occupation but also how different sectors collaborate in real-world operations.
At the Tokyo Chainsaws Inc. booth, attendees learned about the role of forestry, followed by a hands-on experience touching chainsaws and protective gear used in actual logging operations. At the Suntory Corporate Business Co., Ltd. booth, participants explored the journey of a familiar bottled beverage—from manufacturing and distribution to reaching consumers—and learned how numerous industries and companies collaborate behind the scenes.
Students shared feedback such as: 'I was surprised by how many companies are involved in producing just one bottle of water,' 'I only knew the company name before, but now I understand how many people work behind it,' and 'I became interested in a company I previously didn’t care about.' As in the previous year, the event successfully deepened students’ understanding of various professions and sparked interest in future career paths.

Card Game Teaching Material Experience Booth
A booth was set up for students to experience the card game teaching material. Through gameplay, children learned that there are over 17,000 occupations in society, categorized into approximately 100 industries. Participating students commented: 'It was fun to see industries from earlier booths appear in the game,' and 'It was enjoyable learning about jobs cooperatively with friends.'

Comment from Mynavi Representative
'Currently, through our outreach classes using card game teaching materials, we help students understand the wide variety of occupations and industries that exist and how they collaboratively contribute to society—laying the foundation for thinking about their future and career paths.
This event allowed representatives from exhibiting companies and organizations across various industries to convey the real-world appeal and diversity of work, nurturing middle school students’ curiosity.
By listening to professionals, touching real products and exhibits, and experiencing work through workshops, we believe students received information and passion that cannot be conveyed through text or images alone.
We hope this event provided middle school students with an opportunity to think positively about their future, expand their choices, and contribute to their career development centered around school life.'
