Built in 1954 (Showa 29) as Japan's first integrated broadcast tower, it is known as a representative landmark of Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture. It is the first tower in Japan to be designated as an Important Cultural Property. In addition to the observation deck on the 90m ground level, the tower houses a hotel, merchandise shops, and restaurants. It celebrated its 70th anniversary in June 2024.
