Nayax Ltd., a global commerce enablement and payments platform, has announced the launch of its VPOS Media 4 Series as its flagship product line for the Japanese market. The series comprises the VPOS Media 4 and VPOS Media 4 Mini models. These devices currently support QR code payments, with EMV credit card and e-money support scheduled for July 2026.

While cashless payments are widespread in Japanese retail, the unattended payment sector—including amusement facilities, laundromats, parking lots, and EV charging stations—has lagged behind due to high deployment costs, limited space, and complex payment protocols. With the rapid expansion of unattended retail formats to address labor shortages and the growing influx of inbound tourists, there is an urgent need for flexible, space-saving cashless solutions.

VPOS Media 4 and VPOS Media 4 Mini are Nayax’s most advanced payment platforms to date, optimized for the Japanese market. Featuring an Android-based, API-first architecture, they enable businesses to easily integrate their own applications. The devices support the global MDB standard as well as the JVMA protocol specific to the Japanese market. Despite its compact form factor, the VPOS Media 4 Mini maintains robust IP55 (dust/water resistance) and IK08 (impact resistance) ratings, making it suitable for confined environments.

Beyond payment processing, the devices integrate with the Nayax ecosystem, enabling real-time sales analysis via Nayax Core and remote management through the MoMa mobile app. Oren Tesser, CCO of Nayax, stated: "Japan is a strategically vital market. This launch is a significant step toward becoming the payment platform of choice for the Japanese unattended retail industry." Initial deployment targets include amusement facilities, laundromats, and parking lots, with expansion into EV charging and other unattended sectors planned. The company is already collaborating with partners like Silkhat Entertainment Co., Ltd. and aims to further deepen partnerships with local manufacturers, operators, and financial institutions to support the development of Japan’s cashless ecosystem.
