The Wuxia open-world RPG 'Where Winds Meet' has announced that its second major update, 'Dawn of the Palace,' will be implemented on May 28, 2026.
In this update, the long-awaited gates to the Imperial Palace will finally open. Players will cross the golden curtains of the forbidden inner court and step into a vortex of conspiracy that shakes the Jianghu.
'Dawn of the Palace' marks the beginning of a series of large-scale updates unfolding through the summer, featuring powerful field bosses and thrilling multiplayer trials. Long-hidden dynastic stories will be revealed, starting a new Jianghu tale where player choices carry significant weight.
'Where Winds Meet' is a Wuxia open-world ARPG set in 10th-century China. Players can freely explore a vast, seamless world, using a variety of weapons and martial arts to forge their own legends through solo play, cooperation, and PvP.
### The Grand 'Imperial Palace' Area Alive with Conspiracy The Kaifeng Imperial Palace, meticulously crafted based on historical research, appears as a massive area exceeding 1 million square meters. From solemn ceremonial halls to secret hidden corners, over 3,000 dynamic NPCs bring the palace world to life.
Players can experience different aspects of palace life through three main areas: the Outer Court, the Inner Court, and the Imperial Departments. Furthermore, a mysterious treasury rumored to be newly established by the Emperor awaits, luring brave heroes to its secrets.
Entering the palace under the guise of an investigation, heroes will eventually join the Wudesi, the palace's elite intelligence agency. As undercover agents, players will complete daily missions while gradually unraveling the truths hidden at the center of power.
### New Gameplay Filled with Palace Culture and Unique Experiences Inside the strictly ordered Imperial Palace, a vibrant world of everyday culture also exists. Players can experience traditional games and palace culture, such as cricket fighting, seasonal ice play, and various exploration systems.
Numerous unique interactions are also available within the palace. Players can attempt dangerous escapes, sneak a taste of royal meals, or encounter hidden martial arts masters. Bold heroes can even attempt to sit on the Emperor's throne—though such ambition may come with an unexpected price.
In June, an event themed around the Dragon Boat Festival is also planned. Players can experience traditional customs, create handmade gifts for Jianghu companions, and practice traditional Five Elements exercises to earn various rewards.
### Dangers Lurking in the Palace: New Campaigns, Field Bosses, and Multiplayer Trials As the palace map opens, new dangers will also emerge.
The 'Fengzhuangku' campaign, arriving with the May 28 update, leads players by an anonymous letter to a heavily guarded royal treasury. There, secrets deeply involving the dynasty's power structure will be revealed.
Following in June, the 'Shuzhuge' campaign, set in the palace's underground prison, will open. Players will meet a mysterious, somewhat familiar figure amidst harsh illusions born of hatred, culminating in a fierce battle with a powerful boss filled with rage.
New field bosses will also appear in the palace area. 'Lisi Fu,' born from a tragedy in the Cold Palace, and 'Imperial Cat King,' a once-lucky palace cat transformed into an eerie form, await heroes.
Two new multiplayer campaigns are also scheduled for release on May 28. Players can face the unpredictable attacks of the mythical beast 'Tianlu' or engage in 'Princess Wangyue,' a battle of speed and strategy under the moonlight.
The gates of Kaifeng are finally opening. The empire's deepest secrets await. Sharpen your blades and step into the shadows of the magnificent Imperial Palace on May 28.
