The "Zero Heatstroke" Project (hereinafter, the Project), promoted by the General Incorporated Foundation Japan Weather Association (Headquarters: Toshima-ku, Tokyo; Director General: Gaku Moriya; hereinafter, JWA), will exhibit at the 12th "Tokyo Heatwave Countermeasures Expo" to be held for three days from July 15 (Wed) to July 17 (Fri), 2026, at Tokyo Big Sight in Koto-ku, Tokyo.

The "Heatwave Countermeasures Expo" is a specialized exhibition focused on solutions for heat-related challenges. It targets a wide range of people, from the general public to businesses, and showcases diverse products and services that individuals and companies can adopt to promote heatwave countermeasures.
This Project will exhibit for the second consecutive year, with the theme for 2026 being "Supporting Those Responsible for Heatstroke Prevention." Alongside information dissemination to support awareness campaigns, practical problem-solving solutions will be proposed.
To strengthen heatstroke countermeasures in the workplace, revised ordinances under the Industrial Safety and Health Act were enforced on June 1, 2025 (Reiwa 7). Businesses are now obligated to establish systems, create procedures, and inform relevant parties to ensure early detection of heatstroke and prevent severe cases.
To prevent heatstroke, it is crucial not only for individuals to actively take measures but also for organizations as a whole, including companies, to raise disaster preparedness awareness.
In 2026, from July to August, temperatures nationwide are expected to be higher than average, with continued severe heat. Particularly after the end of the rainy season, the influence of the Pacific high-pressure system is anticipated to strengthen, leading to intense heat. Some areas may experience extreme heat days with maximum temperatures of 40°C or higher, necessitating increased vigilance against heatstroke.
1. Introducing the "Wet-Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) Heatstroke Monitor" and educational video materials for risk management during on-site work and dissemination of workplace countermeasure information.
Amidst the urgent need to strengthen workplace heatstroke countermeasures following the legal revisions in June 2025, the Project booth will exhibit the "Wet-Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) Heatstroke Monitor" which can measure the heat index (WBGT: Wet-Bulb Globe Temperature). Additionally, the educational video material "Heatstroke Prevention for Everyone" (https://www.netsuzero.jp/edificationtool#learn1), which will be available for sale from 2026, will be introduced, offering new assistance for heat countermeasures. This material is an approximately 25-minute video on heatstroke prevention measures and can be utilized for internal corporate training.
2. Introduction of official items from 2026 Official Partners.
A gallery will be set up to comprehensively display heatstroke countermeasure items from each of the Project's 2026 Official Partners. Items from a wide range of categories, including beverages/food, the latest functional apparel, and home appliances, will be showcased (either in person or partially via panels). The exhibition will be organized by purpose to help visitors select countermeasures that match their awareness challenges and needs.
Furthermore, several of the Project's Official Partners are scheduled to have individual booths at the 12th "Tokyo Heatwave Countermeasures Expo."

About the "Zero Heatstroke" Project
The "Zero Heatstroke" Project is promoted by the General Incorporated Foundation Japan Weather Association with the aim of reducing the number of people suffering from heatstroke and achieving zero fatalities. Since its launch in the summer of 2013, the Project has been disseminating correct knowledge and countermeasures regarding heatstroke, centered on weather information that significantly influences heatstroke occurrences. In 2026, its 14th year of activity, the Project will focus on practical awareness and prevention activities with the theme "Supporting Those Responsible for Heatstroke Prevention." With the increasing severity of heat in recent years, the social importance of supporting personnel involved in heatstroke prevention is growing, as evidenced by the mandatory implementation of heatstroke countermeasures for companies starting in June 2025. Information will be disseminated to those who oversee organizations and society, aiming to raise disaster preparedness awareness across society.
