Tong Hsiao (5434-TW), a leading distributor of semiconductor materials, announced today (9th) that its revenue for June 2023 reached NT$7.507 billion, setting a new all-time high for a single month. This represents a 14.75% increase from the previous month and a 32.86% year-on-year growth. The company's consolidated revenue for the second quarter reached NT$20.825 billion, up 12.35% quarter-on-quarter and 22.6% year-on-year. Cumulative revenue for the first half of the year reached NT$39.362 billion, reflecting a 20.2% year-on-year increase. Fueled by surging demand for advanced materials driven by AI, Tong Hsiao achieved record revenues for June, Q2, and the first half of the year.
Tong Hsiao attributed the strong June performance to simultaneous high growth in both its semiconductor materials and environmental green energy businesses. In semiconductor materials sales, robust demand for AI chips has led to full capacity utilization in advanced processes and advanced packaging, boosting material procurement momentum. Core products—including photoresists, silicon wafers, quartz, wafer carriers, and polishing slurries—all experienced a procurement surge, delivering double-digit month-on-month growth.
Additionally, as AI computing architectures upgrade, the demand for low signal loss in high-speed transmission continues to rise. Quartz fabric, known for its excellent thermal stability and low dielectric properties, has become a critical material in the AI server supply chain. Quartz fabric revenue in June saw exponential expansion, demonstrating Tong Hsiao's high-growth operational resilience amid the AI computing infrastructure wave.
Beyond the diversified growth in semiconductor materials, Tong Hsiao's strategic expansion in the environmental green energy sector has reached a new milestone. Starting in June 2023, 'Donghong Green Energy Environmental Technology Co., Ltd.' has officially been integrated into the Tong Hsiao Group. Donghong Green Energy is a professional domestic provider of incineration systems for waste gas and liquid and air pollution control engineering. It has long served Taiwan's petrochemical and electronics core industries and has established proven track records, including the construction of incinerators and exhaust gas treatment systems for organic solvent recovery projects at major semiconductor manufacturers' 'Taichung Zero Waste Manufacturing Center.'
