Samsung Electronics will host its summer Galaxy Unpacked event on Wednesday, July 22, in London, UK. According to South Korea’s Hankook Ilbo, industry insiders say the company will launch a range of new products, including foldable smartphones and smart glasses.

The event, themed 'A New Shape Unfolds,' is expected to showcase Samsung’s ambitions in its AI ecosystem and hardware innovation, unveiling at least five new devices—three foldable phones, a new smartwatch, and the highly anticipated AI smart glasses.

This year, Samsung’s foldable lineup will undergo a major overhaul. The company is expected to launch three new models. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 (previously rumored as Fold Wide) will feature a new 'wide aspect ratio' passport-style design, with an external display of approximately 5.5 inches and an internal unfolded screen of 7.6 inches, close to a 4:3 aspect ratio. This aims to enhance media viewing experiences and directly compete in the foldable iPhone market.

The flagship Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is seen as the true successor to the Fold 7, featuring an 8-inch main display and a 200-megapixel primary camera. It will also introduce Flex Titanium alloy support technology to reduce device weight and further minimize screen creasing.

Meanwhile, the vertical foldable Galaxy Z Flip 8 will retain a similar look to its predecessor but may switch to Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2600 processor, with improvements in thickness and weight.

Another major highlight is the debut of Samsung’s first smart glasses, possibly named Galaxy Glasses. Co-designed with Warby Parker and Gentle Monster, the product is expected to feature Google Gemini AI assistant, focusing on real-time voice conversations, translation, navigation, and camera-based visual search.

On the wearable front, Samsung will launch the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, both powered by the latest Snapdragon Wear Elite chip, with significant upgrades in battery life and Samsung Health’s health-tracking capabilities.

Due to rising component costs and global memory shortages, prices for the new devices are expected to increase by around $100.

Reports suggest the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra could start at $2,099, the Fold 8 at $1,899, and the Flip 8 at $1,199.

The event will be live-streamed globally on Samsung’s official website and YouTube at 9:00 AM Eastern Time on July 22.
