Industrial computer giant Advantech (2395-TW), benefiting from strong second-quarter profit expectations and a positive outlook, saw its stock price rebound sharply today (21st), rising to the daily upper limit of NT$567 early in the morning and holding firm. This not only reclaimed the 5-day moving average but also completed its dividend recovery.
Advantech stated that despite recent challenges such as tight supply chains and volatile raw material costs, robust customer ordering momentum driven by accelerating adoption of edge AI applications has kept the overall and regional book-to-bill (B/B) ratios across its three major regions at high levels. This reflects steady end-market demand in key regions and an optimistic overall business outlook.
Advantech's revenue for June reached NT$10.123 billion, up 30.9% month-on-month and 73.4% year-on-year. Second-quarter revenue totaled NT$26.126 billion, significantly exceeding the company's expectations, with a 28.2% quarter-on-quarter increase and a 46.5% year-on-year growth. First-half revenue amounted to NT$46.511 billion, up 32.2% year-on-year, with monthly, quarterly, and cumulative revenues all hitting record highs.
Advantech went ex-dividend on July 17, distributing a dividend of NT$11.15 per share. Today's sharp stock price rise completed the dividend recovery in just three trading days. The cash dividend is scheduled to be paid on August 7. Advantech is also set to hold its earnings briefing on August 5 to present its Q2 financial results and business outlook.
