Passive components manufacturer Walsin Technology (2492-TW) announced today (21st) its unaudited net profit for June, following the disclosure threshold for securities trading on the centralized exchange, reporting a post-tax net profit of NT$717 million, representing a 68% increase month-on-month and a 112% surge year-on-year, with earnings per share (EPS) of NT$1.48.

Including the unaudited figures for April and May, Walsin's net profit for the second quarter totaled approximately NT$1.573 billion, up 90% quarter-on-quarter and turning profitable from a year-ago loss, achieving an EPS of around NT$3.25—the highest in 19 quarters. The company's first-half net profit reached approximately NT$2.393 billion, with an EPS of NT$4.92.

Walsin's revenue for June reached NT$3.961 billion, the highest level in nearly 61 months, up 7.1% month-on-month and 25.8% year-on-year. Second-quarter revenue totaled NT$11.366 billion, up 18.9% quarter-on-quarter and 19.4% year-on-year. First-half revenue amounted to NT$20.928 billion, up 14.7% year-on-year.

After peaking at NT$645 in late June, Walsin's stock began to decline. Since last Thursday, being placed under trading restrictions and amid broader market corrections, the downward trend accelerated, resulting in three consecutive trading limit-downs. Starting today, the stock has been placed under restrictions for the second time, hitting the daily limit-down during trading, and closed down 1.4% at NT$273—nearly a 57% drop from its peak within just one month.
