Last week, Taiwan's stock market experienced heightened volatility due to profit-taking in AI-related stocks, corrections in U.S. tech shares, and rising market demands for corporate earnings and valuations. However, data on newly issued ETF shares over the past week shows that market capital has not retreated due to short-term corrections. Instead, investors have taken advantage of lower prices to strategically position themselves, indicating continued confidence in the medium- to long-term prospects of Taiwan equities. Notably, 00403A stood out, with weekly new share issuance surpassing one million.
According to CMoney statistics, over the past week up to July 22, ETFs that saw more than 300,000 new shares issued include: Uni-President Active Upgrade 50 (00403A-TW), Kaiji Taiwan TOP50 (009816-TW), Yuanta Taiwan 50 (0050-TW), Fubon Active Future 50 (00991A-TW), Uni-President Active Taiwan Growth (00981A-TW), and CTBC Active Taiwan Income (00406A-TW). This demonstrates that during market fluctuations, investors are actively using ETFs to seize opportunities during pullbacks.
CMoney data shows that 00403A added approximately 1.087 million new shares in the past week, ranking first among Taiwan ETFs and becoming the only product to exceed one million shares. This highlights strong investor interest in products that combine Taiwan's long-term growth potential with income opportunities, with 00403A receiving particularly strong favor.
The Uni-President Asset Management research team stated that the recent market correction mainly reflects short-term liquidity flows and sentiment shifts, not a clear deterioration in corporate fundamentals. Looking ahead, AI remains a key growth driver for the global technology sector. Although the third quarter may see continued market volatility due to earnings reports, valuation adjustments, and macroeconomic factors, the medium- to long-term trend for Taiwan stocks remains positive, supported by corporate earnings growth.
Market investment experts also advise investors not to chase short-term price movements. Instead, they recommend phased investments or dollar-cost averaging to participate in the market. Utilizing ETFs allows investors to capture long-term growth opportunities in Taiwan stocks and accumulate solid investment returns over time, even amid volatility.
