According to Reuters, Nvidia (NVDA-US) and South Korea's SK Group announced on Friday (24th) a massive artificial intelligence (AI) initiative exceeding $500 billion, encompassing large-scale AI data centers and next-generation memory technologies.
Nvidia stated that the initiative includes a long-term partnership with SK Hynix (SKHY) to secure supply of next-generation memory for Nvidia's AI chips, and both companies will jointly develop high-bandwidth memory (HBM) for AI training, AI agents, and physical AI applications.
Additionally, Nvidia revealed that SK Telecom plans to build a 2GW-scale AI data center powered by Nvidia's Vera Rubin chips and SK Hynix's HBM4 high-bandwidth memory, with the first facility expected to launch in 2027.
Furthermore, Nvidia announced it will collaborate with South Korean web company Naver and Brookfield to expand Naver's AI data center operations in South Korea.
